We're flying in tomorrow and seeing Hairspray (Friday night), Wicked (Saturday night) and Avenue Q (Sunday), and we're really hoping to see the original cast for Wicked and Avenue Q, so does anyone know if there are cast members scheduled to be out this weekend ?

They'll e-mail you....Actually, they'll do so a couple times. Once to confirm the purchase and again when the tickets are printed.

With all the Rent stuff, I'm surprised this hasn't already been listed:

The Filmmaker cannot see

And the songwriter cannot hear

Yet I see Mimi everywhere

Angel’s voice is in my ear

Just tighten those shoulders

Just clench your jaw till you frown

Just don't let go

"About showtunes gone pop: My friend said she heard a country-fied version of "Written in the Stars" from Aida at a restaurant somewhere. Anyone else hear this?"

Wellllll....your friend's HALF right....The "pop" version of this was sung by LeeAnn Rimes (that's the half your friend got right) and Elton John (not exactly "country", ya' know :) )

Actually, the version isn't half bad (I'm told) for people that haven't heard the original. Unfortunately, I HAVE, and while i like both Si

He was on an episode of 90210 it's last season (I think) but I didn't see it...

I actually thought he HAD done Broadway, or at least theater of some type...I have a recording of he and Charlotte Church singing "The Prayer" that is just amazing...

Hey, they could get just about anybody to do it...After all, they're going to look like a superstar after singing beside of her for a couple hours...lol

What 'pop' star would you most like to see transfer ?

With the recent groaning about Scary Spice, whats-his-name from 98 degrees, and now (ugh) Brittany, it got me wondering who would actually make really GOOD crossovers from the "pop" world to the stage.

The first one that comes to mind is Clay Aiken...I could really see him playing...er...something Profile for WVRevy | BroadwayWorld Message Board Just LOVE his voice, and think it would fit well to the stage.

That was my thought....I haven't actually SEEN her act (do pepsi commercials count ?), but I am not even a LITTLE impressed with her singing. On Broadway she wouldn't have the benefit of a full mixing board to make her sound better Profile for WVRevy | BroadwayWorld Message Board

Hmmm....That gives me an idea for a new thread...

Well...it's just ME describing them that way Profile for WVRevy | BroadwayWorld Message Board

Actually, I'm fairly bummed...we had talked about this trip for a couple weeks before finalizing it, and I'd been browsing for tickets for about that long...and up until this weekend, I could have gotten fairly good seats.

I guess my real problem is, I have no idea what the Neil Simon theater is like...Are seats in row 'U' really "bad" seats, or would row 'K' in the mezz be better ? I think in my en

Seating Help !

Mar 24, 2004 — 8:20:04 AM

Ok, my wife and I are making our first ever trip into New York in a couple months, and we've run into a bit of a problem. In trying to get tickets for Hairspray on May 28th, we're stuck with deciding between fairly bad orchestra seats (row 'U', left of the stage) or mid-level mezzanine seats.

Problem is, I don't know much about the theater, so I don't really know which of those would be better seats, so that's what I wanted to get your opinions on...I'm buying the tickets today sometime,

My 3 year old (the hippy chick you see in my icon pic Profile for WVRevy | BroadwayWorld Message Board ) currently thinks that "Popular" from Wicked is the best dance song in the world...lol...Not sure how much of a recommendation that is, though...At least it's up-beat, and could be "cute", if that's what your friend is going for...

I just caught the tour of Les Mis in Raleigh, NC last month, with Randal Keith as ValJean and was pretty well blown away when he sang "Bring Him Home"...I'd never heard Mr. Keith in person, and (honestly) I think I liked his version that night better than I do Colm Wilkinson's...

Is it cold in here ?

Mar 16, 2004 — 1:54:01 PM

I'm a newbie to this forum, so bear with me if this question has already been asked (I haven't seen it in a few days of lurking...)

What songs from musicals absolutely give you chills when you hear them ? I began thinking about this after seeing you guys rave about Wicked for a few days...then buying the CD this past weekend...lol

My (short) list:

"Defying Gravity"
"One Day More" from Les Mis
"On My Own" from Les Mis (when Lea Salonga sings it)
"Maybe" from Annie
