Seating and other advice

I'm trying to plan a trip this fall, and was hoping someone could advise me on a couple questions.

First, seating at the Gershwin. I like to sit close to see the actors' faces, but I'm also quite short so I worry about sitting TOO close. How close is uncomfortable, in your opinion?

Second, 54 Below. Is there a "type" of ticket or table that I should try to get or try to avoid? For shows with bigger casts (like the Princess Parties), am I likelier to get the "prime" cast at the early or late show? And what's dress code like in reality?

Thanks!

Seating and other advice

For the Gershwin, check out row N, side orchestra. There is a walkway in front of it, so you should have an unobstructed view.

Seating and other advice

For 54, the premium seating isn't worth how much more expensive it is and the "ringside" is way too close; you'll be looking straight up at the stage. The side view is not great and if you are looking to save some money on tickets I would go for bar rail instead of side view. Seating within a price type mostly seems to be pretty random, really up to the maitre'd, though they are willing to try to accommodate reasonable requests. My experience is that the casts between the early and late performance are either the same or actually slightly better at the late show when performers who are currently in musicals have had time to get to the venue after their primary performance that evening.

Seating and other advice

I used to sit strictly Orchestra, and I have to say almost every show I have seen lately I have been just as pleased sitting towards the front Mezz. Save the money IMO.
