Seating related question (sorry)
Seating related question (sorry)#1
Posted: 4/25/08 at 4:52pmI'm thinking about rushing Cat on a Hot Tin Roof tomorrow, only I noticed that the box office only sell partial view tickets for student rush. Can anyone tell me how awkward the view is?

Depends on the seat, really, and how much you value being close to the action vs. being able to see stuff happening upstage on your side. Do NOT pay money for the seat on the very end in the first four or five rows, because if you get stuck in C16 you won't be able to see ****. Other than that, some of the restricted-view seats aren't bad at all--try to get a low seat number (C14 is miles better than C16), and keep in mind that the view restriction is less severe the further back you go.
Haven't seen Cat, but I did see Les Mis about a billion times at the Broadhurst... enough to know that the stated rules for student rush aren't always accurate, and that sometimes the box office guys will bend them. (The website said there was no Les Mis rush on weekends, and one employee claimed it was policy to give out crappy restricted-view and rear orchestra seats for rush... but they did indeed have rush on the slower weekends, and my friend and I once scored two front row side tickets on a Saturday night.)
