Guys I want to clear something up.
I'm not just bringing one 8 year old. Ok?
I'm bringing two.

Oh, that puts a different light on things.

Eh, I was 14 when I saw Equus. I had to get written permission from my parents because I was under 15. I loved it. Juuuust saying.
Honestly if an 8 year old is not mature enough to handle nudity and bestiality then they are already beyond hope.
Frankly I think they'll be bored. Shaffer is such an over-rated playwright.
I understand there's a Sarah Kane revival opening soon- that would be much more challenging.

Sum, maybe it would be best to take their whole Sunday School class as well--that way they could discuss it amongst themselves.
There was a great "article" in the Onion (yes, it's satire, so don't begin the obtuse comments) last January about a second-grade class doing a production of Equus. Hilarious.

I think Equus is great for children--kids love horses.
I think My Little Ponies should do a product tie-in. Who wouldn't buy their 8 year-old a blinded horse to play with?
Well, if they have already seen Spring Awakening (and did not like it) and if they loved Virginia Wolf... I say take them, they have good taste!
Ourtime, that is a great article! Ohhhh brilliant.
Harry Potter he ain't!
Front row seats will be a top commodity for this production.
