I seldom see things repeatedly, but needed more Sunday before it leaves us. This evening I saw it for the third time -- it gets better and better.

When did Sunday post a closing notice?

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

It was always a limited run, and it had a couple of extensions.

Whoops, thought it was open run for some reason.

South Pacific is the open-ended one. This production of Sunday in the Park ranks #1 on my list of current revivals. It is fantastic.

Well, I saw it last night, and while I enjoyed the start, I got more and more disenchanted with it as the night went on. I certainly reached saturation by the second act, and despite a typically beautiful performance, I was ready for it to end.

Ugh. I think I'm going to try to unload Tuesday's tickets so that I can enjoy the closing for all it's worth. I was actually distraught all night about my disillusionment with this show I love.

Next Tuesday, 6/24, if you would like 2 tickets in the center on the aisle halfway up the Mezz (HH I think) for around $30 total, please let me know. I'm not positive but I'm thinking about it.

I wish I could take those tickets off your hands...Anyway I have seen it 3 times and wish I could afford to go see closing night(I hate being broke right now) make sure those going closing night tell us all about it

Well I have tickets to tomorrow (Tue) night and closing (Sun) night. I'm definitely going Sunday, but still undecided about tomorrow. I got bored and started to get disenchanted with it last week, although it may have just been the mood I was in. I'm still hearing and enjoying the songs in my head.

If anyone else felt similarly in past shows, I'd appreciate more thoughts. I don't want to feel regret that I didn't see it every chance I had, but even moreso I don't want to wreck it for myself and get burned out--where the memories of boredom outweigh the memories of enchantment.

I suggest that you pay attention to things that you haven't focussed on before - choose a subsidiary character to watch or pay closer attention to what triggers lighting changes or even close your eyes during a song and just listen without watching. What are the first spoken words after a song? If you are tired, by the way, your mind will drift - not the show's fault, but you may have trouble bringing the necessary energy to the experience. Hope you enjoy it -

I think as your relationship with a show develops you go through a "honeymoon" period. Everything is amazing and wonderful.

After seeing it a couple times - almost as in a personal relationship - you know what to expect ... not many surprises.. and the emotional hits become less potent.

If you are going to see a particular production multiple times you need to have realistic expectations. At a certain point you are not going to recapture the original "magic" you experienced; you are going to simply to support something you love and that you has given you so much.

You don't get this chance again. If you go with a realistic attitude, in the years to come, you'll not regret seeing it many times.

Last summer, I saw Gypsy quite a few times, because I wasn't sure if we'd ever see that production again, and I loved it so much that I wanted to see it as many times that I could. I don't regret it a single bit, even now that the production is still alive and well on Broadway. There are some things that I just never get sick of, and while it isn't as special as the first time few times I saw it, it's still special, and there are emotions involved that I think you can feel no matter how many times you've seen it.

I totally agree antiandrewx. Legally Blonde helped me alot with getting through a break up. I get emotional when I see the show. For not living in NY, I've seen the show twice and if you count the MTV taping as "seeing the show" I've seen it hundreds of times! My favorite musical ever! I will see it tons more when I move to NY this summer.
