I'm also in a similar situation, friend can't go so shes trying to sell 2 tickets for tonight in main dining.
Is that really what 54 below said? I was thinking of calling them to see if she could give to waiting list, but I've heard she wouldn't get her money back?

Yup, that's exactly what they said. I even asked: "So there's literally no benefit for me to return this ticket to you." Reply: "Ya, that's about right."
At least not-for-profits will give you a tax write-off and most other venues will allow you to exchange and/or give you your money back if the ticket is resold.
I might as well just keep both tickets and put my feet up

Yea just called them as well. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked if I could know who was on the wait list (since it's sold out) to sell to them directly. Such a horrible policy. Well best of luck to both of us.

Maybe try tweeting that you have an extra ticket for sale and tag Carmen's account, hashtag her name, etc.
