I saw it in both its incarnations. Frankly? I didn't see these supposedly huge changes that were made at the Algonquin. It's ok...I didn't find it to be anything special. No real memorable songs, extremely predictable plot. The only reason I stayed for Act 2 when I saw it at the Algonquin (a free ticket, so in theory I should be singing its praises, but I cannot in good conscience do that) was because I kept waiting to see what these "big changes" were, but never found them.
If you get a free ticket, go for it. Otherwise...I wouldn't waste my money.

I have to agree with jordangirl. I sat it through TDF last month, and wasn't thrilled. It's a nice distraction for a few hours, but not worth the trip halfway across midtown for me to see it again.
