HOW PERFECT WOULD THIS BE? Who would play whom? Not taking into consideration that a couple of the cast members from the show have been on bway before and could probably do it themselves....
I think:
Carrie Bradshaw: Sarah Jessica Parker (I cant think of anyone else)
Samantha Jones: Leah Hocking
Miranda Hobbes: Dee Hoty
Charlotte York: Kerry Butler
yay for Leah Hocking! She has such a great voice! She'd make a perfect Samantha. She is already pretty seductive in ASU!

i'd just die.. i loveeee sex and the city.
I think someone should write a jukebox musical using the songs of the spice girls...
I love love love Sex and The city, one of my all time favorite TV shows, But as a musical I have doubts. Don't think it would work. Even though the idea is cute, the possiblity is very slim.
But I love Leah, she would make an awsome Sam.

Marc Kudisch as Mr. Bigg
Smith Jared? David Ayers?
Steve Brady?
Any other thoughts? Maybe Carolee Caramelo could play Carrie Bradshaw?

OMG I NEED TO PRODUCE THIS....THIS WOULD BE BRILLIANT AND WOULD RUN FOREVER....im just THINKING about the fantastic musical numbers that could be done about the various scenarios through the shows many years....haha...the uncirc man, the guy with the small wee wee, single and fabulous? WOW, this would be BRILLIANT!
How about Rachel York for Samantha? She reads maturally and she does the smokey/sexy well. I like her voice better than Leah's.
I like SUB as Charlotte. I'll have to sit on prospects for Carrie and Miranda. Those are some good choices, I just feel like there are ideas in the back of my mind that I just can't bring forward at the moment.
This is a good idea, but wouldn't it lose some of its appeal because it would, by default, lose some of the sex?
Well, it is a good idea. Although, if it ever did happen, I think producers would want a big name for Carrie. Maybe even for the whole cast. JMO though.
I dunno, I think the concept on a whole has enough appeal to draw in audiences without big names attached...

I agree Ilegally Blondish....the title itself has enough market value....most out of towners associate Sex and the City with New York....and the New York experience, and believe that life in NY is like Sex and the City...so when these outoftowners come to NY...to see a broadway show one night...what better choice? well for adults atleast...and how about bacholerette parties?!? oy haha
i'm sure it would do well because of the sheer curiosity of some people.
i'd love to see leah as samantha
and sarah u. berry as charlotte
..as for the others... not sure yet.

Hm. I guess if you wanted to turn a TV show into a musical, it should be this one. I love the show, and if the right people would be hired, it could be brilliant.
ddtruitt: I agree with Amy Spanger for Carrie, and really all of your choices. Except I'd second Kyirin for Kudisch as Big. Though that man could just stand still, make an expression or gesture, and I'd stand up and applaud.
I think Donna Murphy would make a good Carrie, that is if Sarah Jessica Parker herself would not be willing to play the role.
This show would work well as a concept show like Company I believe.
