Just saw "the Sexless years" last night at the Duplex. I dont know this girl(Kate Pazakis). I went because of the buzz on the board last week. I had no idea what to expect.

This sexy voluptuous yet unconventional woman steps onto the stage and starts belting and singing like nothing I have ever heard before.

She tells this story about this sexless love affair she had. It is really dirty, raunchy, Very funny and suprisingly touching.
This girl is a wonderful actress with and voice that is truly stunning. I think she is going to have a hugely successful career.
I foundher website this morning and looks like things are already moving quickly in that direction. The house was packed with a lot of Broadway people and other theater people that I see around.

If you get a chance, go see this.
She is at the Duplex Monday night at 9:30.

Peggy I am glad you went.

I am her biggest fan. I love her.
I JUST saw her name in one of those big benefit concerts coming up, I want to go see her wail.

I have been unable to check it out, but from what friends have said, she is AMAZING. I've seen her perform in Tom T'Angora's "Divas I've Done" and she's got an amazing voice and presence.

(Dying to see her rendition of Defying Gravity...."I've got to TRYYYYY Bisexuality, but I'm not goin' DOOOOOWWWWWN")

Go check her out!!!

This sounds great!

Whenever I hear the Duplex mentioned now, I think of Jack on "Will and Grace".

The show is really enjoyable. Kate can belt like nobody's business, and she knows how to sell a moment, not just a number. The final performance is next Monday-- go if you can!
My review of The Sexless Years

"I hate musicals... People don't sing in real life."
"Well, maybe they should."

New dates would be excellent. I'd love to catch the show again.

I saw the show last week and was really blown away. I knew she was an amazing singer, but I was not prepared for how thoroughly engaging the show would be -- it was funny and raunchy, and just very true.

And yes, Mimi Imfurst, Sunday nights downstairs at the Duplex are a wonderful, wonderful thing.

OMG....Have you guys seen this show? It's the BEST show I have seen in a long time. It was funny, and touching and she is amazing. Seriously, this is absolutely essential theatregoing. I have never heard anyone sing like this. She also has 3 really funny, really adorable boys who sing back up, dance and contribute to some really hilarious scenes. They just added three more performances. This Satuday and next the 5th and the 12th....and another monday but I am not sure if it's valentine's day monday or another one.
I was there Monday and there were so many people there. Euan Morton, Rick Crom, Natalie Douglas, Kristy Cates (who was really into the "defying gravity" parody, which has go to be seen to be believed, the funniest thing I have ever seen onstage). And I have friends who have been other nights and said stephen schwartz came...Seriously SEE THIS SHOW. Has anyone else seen it recently? What did you all think?

Loved the show. Kate is an old friend and I'm glad I went to support her. She has one kick-ass voice, and I can't wait for her to sign a record deal - hopefully, that will be soon.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
