Hello, All!

I'm a student stage manager, and am about to graduate from my BFA program. I'll be traveling through New York on my way to my to my summer stock gig, and am looking for stage managers in New York (specifically Broadway or Off Broadway) to shadow or get coffee with while I'm there. I'll be in town from May 18th-20th. So far, I've been sending out emails to production stage managers, but finding contact information is proving difficult. Does anyone have any resources?

I'd say snail mail a letter to the theater/stage door addressed to the PSM.

I haven't shadowed a stage manager, but I've shadowed the sound department at a few Broadway shows. It was either set up through friends that worked on the shows, or through sending a letter addressed to the PSM directly to the theater. You don't need to know their name, you can just address it to the theater and put Production Stage Manager on it. Make sure you include your phone number and email so they can get in touch if they have availability, and a resume (even of shows you've worked on at school) so they have an idea of your interests and know you're serious about the industry.
