Shakespeare in the Park on the Simpsons

Tonight the Simpsons go to New York City and Marge and Lisa go to Shakespeare in the Park.

"I owe Yale Drama School $200,000" Hee hee.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

That's cool, I knew that they wanted to have another episode set in New York City that they could actually air and put into syndication.
"If you try to shag my husband while I am still alive, I will shove the art of motorcycle maintenance up your rancid little Cu**. That's a good dear" Tom Stoppard's Rock N Roll

Shakespeare in the Park on the Simpsons

They were supposed to see Romeo and Juliet, but the actors (the Sheens and the Baldwins, I think) got into a huge fight and it was cancelled.

Lisa and a few others ended up performing the play, themselves.

There was also a scene from Sweet Smell of Success that made me think of these boards.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

The did try to see "Pappa Pia" subtitled "because ABBA still has more songs".

Marge: "This is all the money we have."
Ticket Lady: "You can get the back of the 2nd balcony, standing room, obstructed view seats."
Lisa: "Ok, we'll take them, at least we can say we've seen a broadway show."
Ticket Lady: "No, you are not allowed to say that."
Marge: "oh..." and takes her money back.
