Shire and Maltby Jr. developing THE COUNTRY WIFE musical adaptation

FIRST IN THE BRIEFING: Red Bull Theater & Art Lab Productions will present The Country Wife, a new musical adapted from the play by William Wycherley, with adaptation and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., and music by David Shire. The cast features Nicholas Christopher, Carson Elrod, Angela Grovey, Eddie Korbich, Kristolyn Lloyd, Ellyn Marie Marsh, Gabe Martinez, Jacob Ming-Trent, Brad Oscar, Julian Remulla, Jelani Remy, Christina Sajous, and Lauren Worsham. This one night only presentation will be directed by Mr. Maltby and choreograped by Lisa Shriver on Monday, December 11th at 7:30pm at Peter Norton Symphony Space.

Two of my favorite writers - if there isn't a place for new work by Shire and Maltby we should all give up......

Maltby did a song from this at 54 Below a couple months ago and it's pretty fun. Even in their mid-80s, these two still got it!
