Posted: 7/13/04 at 7:03pmAccording to my calculations, PHANTOM should play it's 7000th performance on November 10. Also, THE PRODUCERS should play it's final performance on Nov. 10 of next year. lol Updated On: 7/13/04 at 07:03 PM

Posted: 7/13/04 at 7:13pmI know I was thinking that as I was typing that I really don't have enough to do today. lol but the first part of that post is true for anyone who cares. On this website, Ive seen people spend time on some very pointless things so i this was my turn.

Posted: 7/14/04 at 1:49amWell there are about 416 performances in a year(8 performances a week times 52 weeks)so its only a little over a year until Phantom beats Cats

Posted: 7/14/04 at 2:02amI'm not ready to start saying THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is the longest running musical in Broadway history. That's scary trivia...
#10re: Shmantom of the Opera
Posted: 7/14/04 at 2:04amWell, get ready! It looks like it's gonna happen for sure now unless the theatre blows up or something.

But, I supose most everyone will be happy (except me, of course) that it will no longer be CATS.

Posted: 7/14/04 at 2:11amYeah, most people will be. PHANTOM is a mixed recieved show also but it's a lot more normal and likable I think.

::is happy it's running so long::
::is a Producers fan::
::sees no sign of it closing anytime soon::
Hello. The MOVIE is coming out next winter. You really think they'd close the show just before the movie came out?

Posted: 7/14/04 at 11:10amthey just booted it out of Toronto, if that's even a minor indication!

On Broadway.com you can see if the show you want to buy tickets for has available seats. I'm always checking Phantoms. I see so far some perfs. sold out and the rest LIMITED availability. (Sp?)
POTO is doing very well. Like DJ said, why would they close a show when the movie is coming out?

Posted: 7/14/04 at 7:35pmI think he might have been talking about the THE PRODUCERS film coming out in winter of 05.

Posted: 7/14/04 at 7:42pmHey, when you say that POTO will break the record unless somebody blows up the theatre...remember "The Producers!" Franz Liebkind in not above such tactics!

SHE, thankyouverymuch.
Yeah, I was talking about the Producers movie. Although the same kind of goes for the POTO movie, to all the people going "Oh noes Phantom is going to close soon".
As for the closing in Toronto, with The Producers....so it didn't work up there. *shrug* Big deal. It's still going damn strong here. I just saw it again a few days ago, and the theater was pretty much packed. And everyone seemed to love it.

Posted: 7/15/04 at 2:32pmsorry about calling you "he" but we're a nonymous so I have no clue. I disagree that THE PRODUCERS is going DAMN strong. I think overall it's doing average just according to the box office. It's in no position to go another few years and it really needs the movie like you said.
