This has been discussed many times and a definitive answer will never be reached as to who is better and this usually just leads to Shoshanna bashing...You can hear a clip of Shoshana on the Broadway.com backstage video of wicked
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

umm sho sounds really good in clips...but i saw her on wednesday, and her acting was great but her singing sucked. i know she can do so much better cause she has such an amazing pop belt, but she pretty much sang in her head/mixed voice the whole time. no vocal dynamics whatsoever, except for the occasional riff in DG
Idina wins.
Idina wins.

Different, but both excellent.
If we are talking about voice, I lean toward Idina. I like her raw, sometimes gravelly, rock star-ish voice. Shoshana's voice is more pop, but it is really fantastic. So I think it's a matter of preference. I think Shoshana really nails it in No Good Deed - better than Idina, methinks, on that song.

It leads to both Shoshana AND Idina bashing.
You'll have to see both and form your own opinion.

Idina Menzel was the original Elphaba in Wicked the musical and now Shosana Bean is Elphaba

But OMG, Idina is like SO last year.
I really don't freaking care, just to clarify. I love Idina, but please. Does it matter? Shoshana is playing the role now, whether you like it or not, for better or for worse.

As you can tell I'm an Idina fan so I think she's great! My friends saw Sho do WICKED and she said she was great too. But it was different hearing Sho instead of Dee because she had been listening to the cd a lot. I think Sho's great too. I saw here when she was in the chorus of HAIRSPRAY.
you say i'm weird! look at everyone you're sitting with! and hey, those guys over there just threw napkins up in the air like they were on something! it's contajous! you can't help it!

Oh, thanks for clarifying. Now is Elphaba the green one or the white one?
Also, why is the traveling salesman white when the Wizard is black? Aren't they the same? If not, I don't get the show.

ORANGE?!
I thought that was yellow paint with red blush!
I did not get WICKED at all.
One more question, was Mme. Morrible the wicked witch of the east?

Ugh, Wicked is too hard to understand.
I'm going back to a nice easy show like Les Mis.

Did anyone else notice she spelled ShosHana's name wrong? It's Shoshana with 2 H's not 1!
