Isn't this the same thread as the other one about a Tony for this? The answer is still no. He shouldn't but that doesn't mean he won't be.

Should Maurice be nominated? Definitely.

What is his competition???

Lestat won't be nominated.
Drowsy...not deserving of a nomination, IMO.
Tarzan is really more musical staging.
Ring of Fire...please.
Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life should be nominated.
Pajama Game should be nominated.
The Woman in White did not have dancing.
Jersey Boys doesn't have dancing.
Lennon...please.
The Color Purple...was there much dancing in it? I forget.
Seeing The Wedding Singer this Friday...does it have dancing?

So, I think three locks for choreography are Hot Feet, Chita Rivera, and Pajama Game. (Are there four noms for choreography each year?) I think PJGame should win.

Color Purple has great choreography by the legendary Donald Byrd. The African sequence alone will get him a nomination.

And Jersey Boys has a ton of dancing (choreographed by Sergio Trujillo). The Four Seasons never stop moving through two dozen numbers and maybe all of that step choreography doesn't look difficult -- it's suppose to look easy and natural -- but it's harder than it looks.

And Drowsy will definitely get a nomination.

I didn't say JB was a lock, just that it has a ton of dancing in it.

Maurice is indeed a most talented dancer! I had the joy of seeing him perform in the touring production of Guys and Dolls as Nathan Detroit, the night after 9/11 in Philly. An evening I soon won't forget.

The Hines brothers come from one remarkably talented family.
