Considering how many people were rudely interrupted to fit the show within the two hours, I'm glad they gave him his award in the preshow. It gave him time to make a whole, long speech, which he deserved. I would have yelled if they had kicked him offstage. At least they played the video of it and didn't completely ignore it. I think it was a smart decision. Although I also think the awards should have gone for two and a half hours so that they wouldn't have to be so rushed.
