Posted: 6/6/05 at 4:21pmI mean, Edward Albee is so influential, and greatly praised within the theatre community, and I think that a bigger deal should have been made about his award last night. What do you all think?

Posted: 6/6/05 at 5:08pmConsidering how many people were rudely interrupted to fit the show within the two hours, I'm glad they gave him his award in the preshow. It gave him time to make a whole, long speech, which he deserved. I would have yelled if they had kicked him offstage. At least they played the video of it and didn't completely ignore it. I think it was a smart decision. Although I also think the awards should have gone for two and a half hours so that they wouldn't have to be so rushed.

I'm with you CGoldstein, I would have liked to see Edward Albee receive his award during the televised portion of the ceremony.
There were many moments that could have been cut to make space for someone like Albee to be honored. Moments like..."Somewhere"..."Razzle Dazzle"...Hugh's "Never Gonna Dance" medley....I could go on...
