Buying tickets to a couple shows before Tony nominations/awards get handed out and tickets may become harder to come by. I live in New York but I'm trying to fit in as many as possible before finals week, and I'm very indecisive so opinions would really help!
What new shows this season are most worth seeing?
I've already seen Once On This Island, Frozen, The Band's Visit, and Carousel. I picked up tickets for my fifth trip to see The Band's Visit at the end of the month, as well as tickets to My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly (again), and Angels in America.
I'm a big LaChanze fan but based on what I've heard about Summer, I'm not sure if it's worth it to go...

Just added Spongebob to my list! Is Mean Girls really that good?

The problem I have with it is it’s selling pretty well and tickets are not cheap. I’d try to find a way to see it on the cheap (lottery or rush) otherwise I’d pass.

All of the musicals I’d recommend you’ve either already seen or are planning to see. I would actually recommend two plays which will likely do well at the Tonys: Angels in America and Three Tall Women.
I must also admit I’m jealous of you. I went to college in Oklahoma in the 1980’s and usually only had $20 spending money each week. So there wasn’t much theater going in my life at that point other than the college productions I was a part of.

I agree with jbird! You should definitely see Spongebob, but don't sit in the balcony. The balc at the Palace might as well be in another area code... mezz or orch is the best for this show!

Thank you! I was about to go and buy my ticket to Spongebob and likely would have gotten balcony had I not read your reply first!
