Well, I think Orion is kidding, but "Do You Know The Way to SAN JOSE'?" was a big hit for Dionne WARWICK. Also, isn't "Buckle Down Winsocki" from BEST FOOT FOWARD?

OK, who remembers "Try To Remember" used in a camera or film commercial in the 60's or 70's? Kodak or Polaroid, maybe? That's how I was first introduced to that song. The first time I ever saw The Fantasticks, years later, I kept thinking, "That's the camera commercial song."

"Do you know ChrisLovesShows?" "Yes. Why, yes he does!"

There have been so many.

One from A Chorus Line (I think was used in a detergent commercial)

We Are A Family from Dreamgirls, some lame charity I can't remember

You're The Top has been used a couple of times

And CLS, I remember "Try To Remember" camera commercial. I knew the song because I had heard it on Lawrence Welk or somewhere. Everybody was singing that song in the '70's. There are so many different versions of it.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

They played various songs from WEST SIDE STORY during the Mountain Dew commericals in the mid-90's (The one where a man and a woman jump out of a plane and she pulls the guys parachute so he wouldn't drink her Mountain Dew). Man, I can't believe I remember that in detail. See what Mountain Dew does to me. re: Show Tunes as TV Commercials

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't some songs from "West Side Story" featured in Gap commercials?

"Whatever Lola Wants"...wasn't that also used for a Pringles commercial a few months back? Also, a "punchy" more uptempo version of "I Only Have Eyes For You" was used in a commercial around the same time, though I forget what for.

EDIT: "Eyes" was just on...it's for Lipator (a perscription drug). Updated On: 1/14/05 at 09:19 PM

Hey guys, Don't forget "Thank you very much" from the Musical Scrooge in the Visa commercials this year. I loved that in the commercial the guy was shaving his face with a Visa Card!
