Show recommendations

Hi, so each year my family takes my grandma to see a Broadway show. She's seen Beautiful, Matilda, and Wicked and has loved all of them. This yeah I'm in a bind because I have no idea what to take her too! I'm thinking School of Rock, but am wondering if someone in their late 60's would like that? My other option is Tuck Everlasting, since it's new and seems family oriented. If anyone has seen Tuck can you please tell me how you liked it and if you'd recommend. Overall it's between School of Rock or Tuck? :)

Personally very excited about Tuck from I've seen and heard, and I can see it working well if you're going with a group with many generation.

That being said, I would second She Loves Me, and to a lesser degree, The King and I. They are both classics with beautiful productions and a great cast.

I didn't love School of Rock as much as some other people did. Yes, it's a cute story, and the kids are crazy talented, but I didn't love the music and I just liked other shows better.



I would also recommend Bright Star though. I thought it was a very moving story, with a great book by Steve Martin (perfect balance of emotional and funny) and very good blue-grassy music. I'm not in country music at all, but this was great, and I can see it having an appeal to wide range of ages.

She Loves Me.

I'd also throw in On Your Feet, if she enjoys that type of music, as well as Aladdin.

I would err against School of Rock with an older adult-The staff in the theater are all wearing ear plugs because the sound is notably loud.

I second the positive thoughts on She Loves Me. I saw it last night and thought it was a fabulous evening at the theater, a fantastic production of a classic piece of the musical theater lexicon.
