Does anyone expect any good discount codes for some of this season's show for either Christmas or Thanksgiving weekend? I want to buy second row seats for Next to Normal but would wait for a discount code. Should I just not risk it and pay full price to be sure I get the seats?

Good luck getting a discount codes for those weekends. Shows raise prices during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday, and the discount codes that are available are often blacked out during the holidays.

I don't have much experience with Thanksgiving, but a lot of shows actually *raise* their prices the week of Christmas/New Year's. (for example, if you look up HAIR on telecharge, you'll see a "For all performances December 26 - January 1" designation that indicates the price increase for that week.)

Many (most? all?) shows will exclude holiday weeks from their discounts. They typically have no trouble selling tickets, and don't need the incentive.

One more question. Are actors known to miss out on shows holiday weekends? I really want to see the full Next to Normal cast. I missed J. Robert Spencer the first time I saw the show.

This has been stated before:

Unless an actor has a scheduled vacation, is sick or has some prior commitment or a last minute emergency, he or she will be in the show.

If he has family plans during the holidays, then maybe. No one knows right now.

Thanks. I decided not to risk it. I bought full price tickets for second row. The first time I saw it was second row in the mezz and didn't have a great view. I had used a discount code then. It was before the Tonys. Very happy I get to see it again.
