re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Shows with Nudity...

Well...from what I could see it was the real Matthew. And I remember reading in a review somewhere that it was him. Anyway..someone was naked in the begining..and they and a huge...gift.
Broadwayguy...I think it's funny you call M.B. elfish..that's exactly the thought that came to my mind when you posted that last headshot of Joe M. To each his own I guess...

No, that was not Matthew Broderick's naked body in Night Must Fall. It was the stage manager or assistant stage manager. There was an article about it, I believe, on playbill.com and somewhere else about it naming the body double. You'll have to catch the awful movie he was in that he won't talk about nor include in his bio to see him totally naked. Oh, and I believe the brief derriere shot in The Road to Wellville was his. Nothing on stage. I'm told he has a no nudity policy now as does his wife.

>Murder Among Friends,,,,,,,was that the play with Janet Leigh >and Jack Cassidy?:)

Yep, Janet was in the sleeping bag, but she got dressed in it. (Cheat!)

re: Shows with Nudity...

When I saw Night Must Fall (from the second row, so I had quite the eyeful), at intermission, a woman sitting behind me was talking to her friend about the nude scene and she said in a very loud and very broad New York accent: "Oh he was circumcised, no doubt about it." Still makes me chuckle even now.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

re: Shows with Nudity...

In WILL SUCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? Jayne Mansfield was nude on a massuse's table in the opening scene. Yes, for a while when the show first opened she was wearing a 'nude' body stocking, but after awhile she grew bored with putting in on. This was a very risky thing to do as (I believe) the show could have been raided and closed if enough word got out that Jayne was REALLY naked on stage.

popcultureboy, that reminds me of the recent FRANKIE & JOHNNY revival when Johnny casually mentions to Frankie: "I wish I were circumscized!" It was an odd line to say, particularly as one saw very clearly earlier in the show that Stanley Tucci was already 'cut'.

But then, Terrence McNally has a 'thing' about foreskin.

Aw hell. That's no fun. Wait, I just checked....that play was 1999, so maybe I'm not too upset that Matthew didn't bare all, heh. If it was back in the glory days of 1986 though...*scratches chin*. I think I'm the only person in the world with a massive crush on both him and his wife.

re: Shows with Nudity.

Ok there was no nudity in it, but that Frankie and Johnny reminded me of the replacement of Catherine Keener with Elisabeth Shue in Burn This. Pale has a line to her about how she has almost no tits. Catherine Keener is indeed flat chested. But Elisabeth Shue has a cleavage you could sink the Titanic in and yet the line stayed. Go figure.

Well, that's a very dumb thing to say! I mean if he IS naked for an extended period of time the audience can see what's going on down below, and if you say he was done, then WHY would they keep that in the script? Unless he's one of those who LOOKS done but isn't.

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Shows with Nudity.

lo, thank you suellengray for pointing that out.

I'm just saying if the script requires a redhead, cast a redhead, if the script says the man isn'r circumcised, dumb thing to cast one who is!

as for matthew, he shouldnt have been cast if there needed to be a body double, i mean everyone elese has to go nude, what makes him so special!??
