No... because the OP clearly has not seen the show.
I hate when people try to bash a show based on assumptions. When they attempt to be judgemental, despite not knowing any of the material or never seeing a production of it.
It just makes him/her look like a complete dumbass.

It's true. I have not heard anything of the material but I have faith in this production and really want to see it.

I agree about the whole-- you never know if a show is going to be good or not until you see it.
I mean look at all the Xanadu comments and now it has so many fans!

Posted: 6/12/08 at 2:18pmisnt the set for Shrek supposed to cost more than mary poppins and the unmentionable musical about the two Bit...witches from oz?

I can't find the thread, but there was one with actual Shrek reviews. At least those opinions were supported by people who actually saw the show.

DON'T KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED IT.
My favourite maxim, and one that has stood me in good stead many a time. I'll always wait until I've experienced something before judging it, and even if I think something's going to suck, I'm always happy to be proved wrong. ^_^

Sally, those were all jokes. LOL
I saw an industry reading of it a few months ago. Seemed to really be heading in the right direction.
I am very excited!

Posted: 6/12/08 at 4:05pmShrek has one hell of a full page ad in The New York Times this Sunday. It's hilarious.
re: Shrek#17
Posted: 6/12/08 at 4:08pmLet's all hope that this is good and not put it down before anything besides the title and leads are announced hmmm?
re: Shrek#18
Posted: 6/12/08 at 4:08pmI think people just need to give it a chance. Look at legally blonde and please don't shoot me, but that was not completely terrible as everyone said it was going to be. I think we just need to wait till it opens. Then we can say whether it sucks. I still think it will be great with the amazing cast that it has. So please keep your comments to a minimum, stop starting new posts every 5 minutes and get over yourself. The nerve of so musicaltheatrefan arch-type people on this board.
re: Shrek#19
Posted: 6/12/08 at 4:18pmJust like million other people said already don't bash it before you have seen it. People were bashing Xanadu for months before it opened and it turned out to be brilliant. I hate when people do that. Some people thought Young Frankenstein would rack up many tony nominations before it opened and it got 3.
re: Shrek#20
Posted: 6/12/08 at 7:49pmI'll be seeing it in Seattle on August 31st, I'll have to give you all a review.

I know they were jokes, I wrote one too. I was just making fun of the OP because I thought this is a stupid thread.
re: Shrek#24
Posted: 6/13/08 at 11:41amNo apology necessary. I just didn't want people thinking I was duped by the Sherk reviews thread. Sally1112 is way too shrewd for that!
re: Shrek#25
Posted: 6/13/08 at 3:03pmI love the idea of people hanging on the words of reviews of a production that hasn't happened yet. While we're at it, let's talk about the reviews of Marty with John C. Reilly.
