Posted: 7/26/04 at 2:51amI remember there being ideas of a shrek musical awhile ago. I dont think it would work IMO.

Posted: 7/26/04 at 4:10amMovies were cute. I got a good laugh out of them. Yet i have a feeling that depend on how it is done it would end up being on the list of one of our more popular threads "Worst Musical Ever"

This is old news. They talked about this when the first movie came out.
I think this got dumped after the DVD came out. But they just decided to do Shrek 3 and a "Puss In Boots" movie spin-off, so anything could happen with the Shrek franchise now.

Posted: 7/26/04 at 1:41pmI'd much rather see a tap-dancing green ogre than a flying green woman singing a 3rd-rate Schwartz tune.

Posted: 7/26/04 at 3:59pmI heard about this awhile ago... It was in my sister's "National Geographic for Kids" magazine. I think that the movie was great, but I can't see it as a musical.

Plum- Wicked wasnt a direct copy of WIZARD OF OZ. It was a prequel. It was really nothing close to the Wizard of Oz. Just an idea stemmed from it. Shrek will be the same exact plot line as the movie with music thrown in. They cant be compared.
Just a thought: If Donkey starts singing about parfaits and Shrek sings about onions, Im outta there.

Yes, and Wizard Of Oz was a movie musical. I'd LOVE Moulin Rouge on Broadway, though it may be hard to top the movie.
I think a Spider-Man musical or a Batman musical would work out great. Shrek can work too, but I don't like the storyline of the film. It's gonna be INTO THE WOODS GONE WRONG.
