The first Tour of Follies" and a "A Little Night Music" was there.. "A chorus Line"(for over two years)... I think Evita was there just as long or longer... "Cats", "Dream Girls", the LA company of "Les Miz" "Ragtime", "Sunset Blvd", "Beauty and the Beast". It was a barn, but it was still a warm theater. It had great back stage facilities.... You cannot re-build something like that.... it's takes TEN times the money and time... They just didn't care enough to keep it. It's very sad. It's not like it was old and falling apart.........
It was all about making money on the land. Can you imagine tearing down a beautiful theater just for that? Hell! there all kinds places in SHAMBLES around that area or in greater LA for that matter. Sure, it was classic a 70's design, but that's part of history! Going to shows there was an event.
