Shuffle Along Rush vs. Paris, Plus Les Miz

I'm going to be in New York on Thursday and would like to see a show Thursday evening. I know that Shuffle Along is very popular on these boards but saw that the rush line is obviously busy as the show is closing this week. I am also interested in An American in Paris but read that the rush tickets aren't that great. Any opinions on which I should try for? Has anyone rushed An American in Paris recently? How was the line? Is Shuffle Along worth waiting for? 

I am also going to try to see Les Miz on Saturday for the matinee. Has anyone rushed Les Miz recently? How was the line and the seats? 

I've only ever rushed once (Chicago) but had a good experience so I am willing to try it again. Thanks in advance!

American In Paris box seats are only $40 and significantly superior to rear balcony rush seats.

For Shuffle Along, two hours before curtain (the line may start before that), they will start selling standing room, which provides absolutely perfect view for this show. Rush seats are partial view and more expensive.

If I had to choose, I would go with Shuffle Along. I recently saw both and thought that AAIP was pretty poorly executed outside of the ballet numbers which were stunning. The talent level in Shuffle is just so much higher and you should have another chance to see AAIP.

Sell your mother's jewels to see Shuffle. It will never be seen again and is astounding in so many ways. Catch AAIP on tour if you must- same principals that just left. But honestly it's a well-choreographed bore.

^ Ditto. Instead of Les Miz you might want to see the Shuffle Along Matinee on Saturday. No Audra, but FOUR leading men (including the future Burr) PLUS Adrienne Warren PLUS that incredible ensemble. It looks very doable based on the number of empty seats available.

I decided not to chance it and bought regular tickets for Shuffle Along for Saturday night. It sounded like a show that shouldn't be missed. Thanks for the recommendations!

Can't find out anything about Audra's matinee alternate but looks like those are only tickets left. Any info on her?

We saw her alternate last Saturday and she was fabulous. Sorry I don't have my playbill handy and can't remember her name. You will not be disappointed!

She deserves recognition so I hunted down my playbill. It's Darlesia Cearcy. Amazing voice, great dancer. Loved her and the entire cast!
