Didn’t see an existing thread about this, so thought I’d start one.
100 years ago today, May 23 1921, the original production of “Shuffle Along” opened at the 63rd Street Music Hall in New York City. An incredibly groundbreaking smash hit show. I was fortunate to see the short-lived 2016 production (and am still bitter that a cast recording wasn’t made), and am currently listening to the wonderful “Sissle & Blake Sing ‘Shuffle Along’” album to commemorate.
Happy 100 to Noble Sissle’s, Eubie Blake’s, Flournoy Miller’s, and Aubrey Lyles’ achievement!

Also glad I got to see the 2016 Broadway production. I don't know how long they had them, but I did get the insert for the opening night of the original production with pictures. Actually have it opened to the center and hanging in my den under the window card for the 2016 production. Doesn't feel 5 years have gone by.
