Just out of curiosity, how is her understudy(s)?

Sources are nice and I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only one who thought this was an announcement of her departure (in other words you might want to edit the title to include "vacation" so people don't get testy).

Her blog states this, but you might want to change the title to Sept 21-25. It looks like she's out all of Sept with that title.

hopefully she'll be taking auditions during that vacation...because I seriously would much rather see her in ANY other broadway show. Her voice is extremely beautiful.

Hopefully she will be in something that would let her showcase her wonderful soprano. I listened to her interview and Seth's Broadway chatterbox on youtube and at the end she sang Think Of Me. I thought it was the most beautiful version of that song I have ever heard.

I was kinda hoping that maybe she'd make an appearance at the flea market by any chance, but I guess she'll be busy on the 21st.
She does have a beautiful soprano.
I hope she gets to use it in a new/different show soon.

do you think she'd ever play Christine in Phantom on Broadway or would that be considered a step down for her...

Yeah I can definitely see her doing it. Phantom seems to be REAL big on recycling. It's better to recycle than Stunt cast.

I don't think it'd be a step down for her at all. I mean...I doubt she would do that though. At this point, I think she wants to prove her credibility more than anything since TLM isn't much of a boost in that department. She probably hopes to originate an actually cool role this time...haha. But somewhere down the road, I can def see her playing Christine on Bway once her reputation is established.

Actually, I don't think she'd use this time off for auditions unless it's somewhere like London, LA, etc. As far as I know actors just audition for stuff in the city the same day as their show.

Why do people always feel that once you originate a role, that taking over an existing role is a big step back, or career suicide? I can think of alot of Broadway "originators" who are gainfully unemployed.

What is Sierra's Understudy/Standby/etc. in the role? We were talking about seeing the show at the end of Sept. or in early Oct. because we have some kind of deal at the moment, and I'm wondering who the best Ariel to see is since there's an option to see someone else right now?
Please let me know your thoughts--and WHY. Thanks! :)

Sierra's understudies are Betsy Morgan and Chelsea Morgan Stock. You can find clips of Betsy as Ariel on The Site. Unfortunately I don't know much about Chelsea and whether she's performed yet or not. I reckon her voice is more suited to the role, but that's based purely on the one video there is of her on The Site and it's from a school showcase.

I don't know if Boggess would do Phantom on Broadway. I remember hearing an interview she did when Phantom was starting on Broadway about how the full length show and the 90 min version of the show were two totally different things. She said that she isn't sure that she could get through the full length version of the show.

I saw Betsy Morgan perform in July. I thought she was well-suited to the role, though I thought her voice was much different from Sierra's (she has a pretty voice in her own right, just different if you are used to the cast recording).
When I first heard the cast recording of TLM, I wasn't sold on Sierra's voice. Then I heard a snippet of her Think of Me and I was taken back. What a pretty sound! TLM does not showcase her voice at all given Ariel doesn't utilize her full range at all.

According to Broadway understudies, Chelsea Morgan Stock is doing the entire stint.

Can you provide a source please? I've seen both productions and almost none of the cuts involve Christine's material so there would be almost no difference to the performer.
The reason I'm calling you out is that while there are a lot of "leads" on Broadway who I don't think have the talent to warrant their reputations, I do think that she is the real deal.

Betsy is getting ready to leave so she might be gone by the time that comes up.
As for Chelsea, in my opinion, she's better than Betsy and she's great as an understudy. Keeping in mind that she's only gone on 3 or 4 times so far, she needs to do some work on just becoming comfortable. She'll be fine by the end of that week though.
And as for Betsy, she makes some great acting choices but her singing is not up to par for the character. She just sounds too old for the role but I would love to see her in something else.
