When is this being released? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1670994/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_2. I saw the dreadful play ages ago. Looks like the movie has a good cast... Gena Rowland's, Julian Sands and Cheyenne Jackson? It was filmed in Hungary!
September 12th per IMDB

The play was thin but Mark Hammill and Polly Bergen were charming..I remember only 2 characters and getting their autographs. Maybe, the screenplay will flesh out the characters

I also remember seeing the play at the Coconut Grove Playhouse with Mark Hamill and Rue Mclanahan. I was very young at the time, but already a Golden Girls loving theater nerd, so I was excited to see Blanche. I hadn't (and still haven't) seen a single Star Wars, so I couldn't care less about Luke Skywalker. I still have my autographed playbill.
But even at that young age, I remember thinking, "this is crap." Also, the word "cliche" came to mind, especially regarding the ending. I think I'll be skipping the movie till I find it in the Walmart discount DVD bin.

Any release news? There isn't even a trailer!

It had been scheduled to come to Broadway with David Hyde Pierce and Uta Hagen. Uta suffered a stroke and David withdrew immediately.
I am just glad there is a new Gena Rowlands performance to look forward to.

Is this movie ever going to be released?
I saw it with Uta Hagen and David Hyde Pierce at the Geffen, then with Rue MClanahan and Mark Hamill. The first was like watching a master class in acting. The second was actually kind of fun -- but I kept thinking "this is perfect dinner theatre fare". I didn't see the Broadway production.
The odd part of Mark Hamill was that the woman can't guess he's gay. That was a real stretch with that casting!

I don't think this is a strong piece of material although I like the premise. Its success relies entirely on what the two actors can bring to it. Never did understand why Hagen would read that script and sign on. Too bad they evidently haven't found distribution for the film. I'd love to see Rowlands in it.
