Corine, I have not seen Slava's Snowshoe, but isn't the "snow" just scraps of paper? Why would you need your suit dry-cleaned?

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Corine, I'm sorry but this is a theatrical piece - it's not a circus. It deserves to be on Broadway just as much as Hairspray. I haven't seen the piece, so I'm not defending it, but I hate when people put down other shows as "not art" or "not theater" or something. That's just ridiculous. I think Forbidden Broadway is boring and not funny, but I don't think it should be kicked out of New York. It's still a legit piece of theater, and some people like it. So suck it up. Sorry your suit got ruined, but it's called a "snow show," I would imagine some snow would get on you. I would be more pissed if I saw "39 Steps" and that fake foam/snow got all over your suit. That was unexpected.

folkyboy,

Slava's snow show is actually featured as a shortened act in Cirque du Soleil's Alegria.

It was created by Slava as he was one of the original clowns with the troop and then taken over by Yuri Medvedev (who performs it on the DVD). From what I understand, Alegria will be transferring to an arena-based NAT next year.

From what I'm reading, it'll probably blow Wintuk out of the water as its basically considered the bastard child of CdS by any true fans of the company.

I think they should rename the show SLAVA SNOW SNORE.
I bet it will last 1 month tops. They could not give tickets away for this show.

I predict a short and money losing run. Why are they closing all the great theater and bringing crap like this to Broadway.

If you like it more power to you but I personally found it a big snorefest and upsetting.

The reason my suit got ruined was because it got wet as it was raining before the show and it was damp and then I sat in the front and was creamed with buckets of fake paper snow which got caught all over my very nice interview suit. I looked like a red chicken. I went to the bathroom after the show and even had the fake snow in my bra and all over my stomach and other places. I love off broadway theater and performance art but this piece made me angry.

Note to the Producers of this show. Good luck. It did not make money downtown in a tiny theater why do you think a big broadway house will make people come.

Please don't dumb down Broadway. Wish they could bring XANADU BACK. I loved that show. Updated On: 10/3/08 at 09:43 AM

Say what? Ha. I love Xanadu, but it's not like it takes a braniac to understand it.

Robbie,

Well, if Slava bombs at the HH, we can both cackle -- just like scene-stealing mice!!!!

Corine... a little harsh.
I know that you may not like it and enjoy shows like Legally & Xanadu but some of us enjoyed it.

I think it will be do well as a holiday show.

It will give people another option this holiday season.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

People are complaining about Corine's taste in shows? The only taste she has is in her mouth...and even that's questionable.
