I know people keep saying it was cancelled by my tv guide says that it's on next week, so I guess that means it's uncancelled. This is great news! I think it will get a third season for sure, now, especially with the new Saturday slot they are giving it.

Maybe it was just cancelled in New York? It was on tv here on Tuesday.

The original Smash was cancelled on Tuesday. But a new revival is opening on Saturday with a scaled down set and no revolving Karen.

He'll be standing in for the exploded light bulb in the opening credits.
They're using fake Ivy instead of the real thing which is ok I think since its Saturday and not Tuesday so it's like a completely different thing anyways an it's still Smash but I mean it not "Smash" like it was before because its a weekend thing (technically since its after Friday, three days before Smash1.0 used to be on) but its all good.

How many Smash threads can BW give brith to???
I must say I like this one better than the smash canceled one.

I've been following this because, whatever I may think of the quality of the show, it's become a habit.
I did not read anywhere that it's been canceled. What I read is that NBC has shown a lack of faith in the show by moving its time slot to Saturday nights, which various commentators call the "kiss of death" time slot. They're saying that NBC clearly plans not to renew for a third season. Of course, plans could change.

No, smash was not canceled!! But there is another thread titled smash canceled.
I really hope there is another season, this is my second favorite show on television!!

I think I read someone on the board that it was gonna be renewed.
Does anybody else find it disturbing that they keep on mentioning Leo and Ellis -- like Julia saying "I have to take Leo for a walk" or Karen saying "Ellis was in cahoots with Jerry" Any chance either of them will actually make an appearance?

They have a storyline that's going to put them both front and center next season.
Oh dear, the Bunheads as the cast of Smash...
Ellis is I think meant to appear in one episode. Leo isn't--meh, it does seem like they throw around his name all the time, but really if she never mentioned her son I'd find it weirder...
Not being renewed=canceled.
I do hope Leo at least has one of those retractable leash things. And a harness--witha dog collar and the cluelessness of Julia they could get into some sticky situations otherwise.

Yeah but that's only on the uncancelled, and not airing in New York, Tuesday episodes.
What does BOMBSHELL's curtain look like????

Not being cancelled is different from being uncancelled.
Speaking of never talking about her children: Why did almost nobody point out that flaw in "End of the Rainbow"? Judy Garland's youngest child was 11 years old when that show is supposed to take place, and yet she never once mentions any of them.

Out of sight, out of mind. Plus, Cousin Debbie is just a better mom than Judy, duh.

Does that mean it got renewed for two seasons?

Don't ask me, I originally thought Smash: Saturdays was a spin-off like Law & Order: Miami and it was going to be two separate shows but one with more hip-hop.

Yes, because it's work, but it airs after sundown, so you'll be okay.
