If he wanted to motivate his castmates, he could have talked to them himself instead of insulting them via the media. Hey, maybe he did both; who knows. It doesn't make what he did any better.

Evidently, only the motivation of Beatty's matters to you, etoile, not the results. I disagree. I doubt we'll reconcile on that, but that's cool. Differences of opinion make the world interesting. :)

Beatty might have had the best intentions in the world when he said what he said, but for heaven's sake he's a veteran actor. He knows how the media game works. He knew he'd be embarrassing his castmates. Or at least he should have. So maybe he wasn't rude, but just lacked forethought. That's the best I can say for him.
