FYI Idina says here that her time in the show will come to an end in February. Interesting read, too.

How about Linda Eder, she has the voice !!
Who can sing it is less relevant to who can move the necessary number of tickets to keep it open...

That article (and the spawned cites) also claims she confirmed a real Frozen sequel, but I'm not sure she can really say that; wouldn't she need the go-ahead from Disney? The only thing we really know is the film short. As for February, it's possible, but I've had issues with Telegraph's journalism before... Waiting for official announcements myself.
Linda would be interesting. But she's focusing on her touring/new album. She has said while she enjoyed her time on Broadway, she isn't interested in being an actress.
I think If/Then will die with Idina.

I am not positive but did she ever do anything else on Broadway after "Jekyll & Hyde".

I can't think of anyone with the mass appeal to do that unfortunately. Heck, I don't know if "If/Then" would have made it this long if Idina did have the huge success with "Frozen". Yes, she was known for "Wicked" and "Rent" but a big time Disney movie/song is another type of success which probably moves more tickets.
^I definitely agree, sadly. Sure Idina was extremely popular within the realm of theater, but had it not been for Frozsn, she would still be pretty unknown to the general public (and still now, more people will refer to her as "the voice of Elsa" rather than Idina Menzel). Either way, I'm glad her name has had the cache to carry this show, which I feel never received the recognition nor accolades it deserved. Idina will be on stage for the final performance.

What's particularly weird about the Frozen thing, and Menzel mentioned this, is that people normally don't care about the voice actors of an animation unless they're already known (film) celebrities, and even then I'm not sure people really care. And yet even the quite-young fans have happily connected Menzel the VA to Elsa the blonde-toothpick-animated character. Well, glad her career has completely taken off now, at least. I hope the other members of the cast do well after this too.
I wonder that were it not for Idina Menzel on Broadway now, maybe there wouldn't have been the steep uptick in overall Broadway sales this year. Frozen put Menzel on the map beyond Broadway, who then seemed to funnel a bunch of tourists back towards Broadway; and when someone goes to the trouble of traveling to NYC for a show, chances are that person will watch more than one. Love or hate her/the show, but I think Broadway itself did get more publicity in the national consciousness thanks to Menzel's participation in the epic Frozen phenomenon.
Linda Eder's only Broadway credit is Jekyll and Hyde. She dropped out of The Civil War before it reached Broadway. She was also a part of a supposedly "Broadway bound" production of Camille Claudel at a regional theater (Goodspeed, perhaps?) but that never materialized. She's been very candid about her limitations as an actress.
