Posted: 8/24/08 at 6:26pmTLM is doing incredibly well, and is now the 3rd highest grossing show on Broadway right now. It's taking in more money than BATB did at the end of its run, yes.

I just checked ticketmaster, the top price for a Little Mermaid ticket is 110. The same as Beauty was. Unless you are talking about the price of sitting in other areas of the theatre, then you might be right.
Also, keep in mind that at the time of its closing, Beauty and the Beast was a long running show. Granted, it only closed so that Disney could make room for Little Mermaid. But, it wasn't a hot ticket anymore. I know that there were a couple of times that Beauty sold out during the end of it's run however.

Posted: 8/24/08 at 8:05pmThe highest ticket price for TLM actually is 120, and also keep in mind in the majority of the years BATB their ticket prices weren't as expenisve as they were by the time they closed. It didn't constantly sell out but it payed the bills

At first I thought that Little Mermaid was doing better then Beauty did towards the end of its run because they raised their ticket price to 120. After checking on ticketmaster that isn't the case.
It says its 111.50 for the orchestra. The same price for front mezz, 81.50 for mid mezz and 51.50 for rear Mezz.

THE LITTLE MERMAID is a fairly 'new' show and its tickets sales are nowhere near what BEAUTY & THE BEAST was doing at the same time in its run.
BEAUTY & THE BEAST was a tougher ticket to get when it first opened on Broadway back in 1994. Remember... it was the very first of the Disney adaptations for Broadway, plus economic times were much different.
