Broadway - the name, can sometimes be more powerful than what it actually is. The truth is that there are many regional theater companies in the country that do excellent work, in fact, a lot of Broadway productions are transfers of these stagings, so, there is a lot of opportunities outside Broadway. If Broadway is a goal, I'd invite you to reconsider it. I think you should aim for artistic excellency, and nothing else. Not all Broadway shows are good, very few superb, what does it matter where you are performing, if it is what makes you grow most and give you the best experience as a performer?

On the other hand, a BFA in Musical Theater can be like any University degree, there is a lot of jobs, even unrelated to your field, you can use your diploma to obtain, and no profession is easy nor guarantees success, they all require a lot of skill and hard work for them to pay off.

Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE

i think blaxx you said it best.

I mean granted i am not in the business. But its obvious there are tons of things you can do.

And not only that ... all else fails ... get a regular business job. My buddy has a criminiolgy degree. He's worked computer programer, loan officer, and now a recruiter for DeVry which makes descent money.

Hey i imagine BFA would give you good leaning towards being in Sales :) you know how to act and pretend around people. Top an MBA on that if u wish and you'd be money.

Why not teach Musical Theatre?

You'll be able to teach through high school, I *THINK*. You need a Master's to teach at college level.

You'd have these options:

- Try to do theatre that is not Broadway. Broadway isn't the end of the world.

- Teach.

- Go to grad school.

- Try film/tv.

- Do something else.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
