Hopefully she wouldn't be so spunky that she'd lose regard for his health.

Not to mention that it's much harder to transmit HIV from a woman to man than it is to transmit it from a man to a woman.
Okay thanks for the replies! It makes more sense now.
Kringas...I was waiting for somebody to say that! I just didn't want to be the one!
Umm… Kringas , it may just be in gullibility or inability to pick up on written sarcasm, but it is JUST as easy for women to get HIV then men when it comes to unprotected sex….
What he's saying is the disease is more easily transmitted from a man to a woman than from a woman to a man...at least sexually.
In heterosexual intercourse, it is much easier for the woman to get HIV from the man than vice versa. Semen has a higher concentration of the virus than vaginal fluid, the intercourse causes microscopic tears in the vaginal wall that allow the virus to directly enter the blood stream (nothing in a man tears -- hrmph), and the virus-infected semen is in the woman's body for longer than the vaginal fluid is in contact with the man.
It's definitely possible for men to contract HIV from women, don't get me wrong. It's just less common.
"Well...in truth...if it were just Roger and April shooting up and neither were infected, they would be fine...ok...they'd still be junkies, but you know what I mean.
There'd have to be another person involved or they had to have it before hand."
Remember in the OCR when Roger says to "the man" about Mimi "You didn't miss me, you won't miss her, you never lacked for customers". Maybe the man was involved. I don't think Mimi had anything to do with April, but the man could have been involved somehow. He obviously knows Roger from Roger's line.
The man is the drug dealer -- the guy who's selling Mimi what she's using, and who Roger used to buy his from. He seems to cover the area, or whatever.
The post you quoted went to say that if it were only the two of them sharing needles, and neither were infected, that wouldn't be a problem, but that someone else would have to have intercepted and infected the needles first.

Emcee i totally agree, i doubt "the man" cares about his clients health, if his clients get infected its probably more likely that they will want to use more and more to escape the pain, i wouldnt be surprised if the man finds dirty needles on the street and then refills them
Oh, please. I'm sure he doesn't care at all! He just wants money.
In the show: Since everyone else is paired off, what is Mark doing under the sheet during Contact?

"Mucho masterbation"? Seriously, I guess he is just wallowing in his own depression/guilt/loneliness.

OK, here's what I think: April clearly did drugs and shared needles. They were dating and he loved her, so I'd assume they have had sex, therefore he got AIDS from her that way. Of course, he "used to be a junkie" so I suppose we can't write that off.
