Posted: 11/25/04 at 1:55pmPics look great and that review wasn't too bad, but am I the only one who is slightly weirded out and comfused by this whole show. Did Disney REALLY have to produce a Broadway-esque musical review (not intended for Broadway) and book it in big Broadway houses across America? I guess I'm just one of those anti-Disney fans.

Posted: 11/25/04 at 6:42pmMy look on this is that I know that the singers are talented and all but I just don't think I could sit through an entire concert of just Disney songs, it's different if it's Broadway for me but I don't think I would, I mean I'm sure it was wonderful, just not my "cup of tea"..does that even make sense?

I think the cast is top notch. I'm a huge fan of Skinner's and Karl and Maynard have very bright futures ahead of them with Altar Boys. There's a huge buzz about the young girl who's being raved about, so why not.
Seems at least they got it right in the talent dept, which is more than I can say about some of the people about to be ON Broadway, as was made all too clear by the parade.

Posted: 11/25/04 at 8:19pmLOL...why, you can't be extremely talented and perform in a Disney revue?
#11re: On The Record Finale Pic
Posted: 11/25/04 at 8:23pmYes you can, good point...I guess I'd like to see her in 1.)Something a little more challenging for her (no, I don't think that Disney music is challenging for a performer) and 2.) something on Broadway.

Touring can be fun for those who love to travel. She is probably having a blast doing this show and to me that is all that really matters.
#13re: On The Record Finale Pic

Posted: 11/26/04 at 9:04amSeems to me that with the dumbing down being as flagrant and sad as it is, Emily Skinner is probably TOO GOOD for Broadway at the moment. And without naming names and hurting feelings, I'll leave it at that. Some of the people working on Broadway, while people like Skinner are touring, should be very telling of the lack of discerning taste that's going on right now, particularly in casting. I don't know Skinner but I can't imagine that this was a "choice".
