<< I just watched the broadway.com video and I must see this show. This is the music I grew up on!
>
So did I !!! I was looking around at the "concert flyers" that were on the walls (as props)- I had seen almost all of the bands in concert. (Really dating myself now!!!)
<< Testing,
I believe that headshots are normally excluded from off-Broadway productions. Someone else can either correct me if I'm wrong or give a better explanation, but yea- headshots are only required in Broadway playbills>>
Thanks, Logan ! Trying to think of all of the off-broadway productions that I have seen, and I guess that never occurred to me.
Thanks for the correction, Lizzy. I knew I had the gist...just couldn't remember it word for word. Clearly I have to go back many many more times so I can have it word for word. :)
I would like to echo everyone's sentiments that this is the perfect show during such a depressing time in the "real world." It's a lot like driving in your car, hearing a song you love, and cranking up the volume so you can sing a long and rock out...for 2 hours. The show gives you a rush.
Also, with the Constantine bashing. I am not one to judge someone's performance by going on what I assume from their personal life. If someone thinks he looks like a jerk, so be it. But in his performance, he is nothing but a earnest dork who wears jean vests (I loved the "I'm gonna call you 'Jean Vest'" line) and who just wants to rock. That should be all that matters.
Used the $25 code for Halloween - we will be in Orch A at the
7PM show !!! Should be a blast !
Testing, I'll be in Row B for the 7pm, look me up! Just look for the halo...
And that's the only hint I'm giving to my costume.

Halloween at "Rock of Ages" - Wanted Dead or Alive...
Still half tempted to come on halloween but my costume has nothing to do with the 80s... its just a very elaborate hand made took-me-a-freakin-month kinda costume.
We'll be lookin out for ya, Lizzy !!!
We are REALLY looking forward to this !
The list of 80s Halloween costumes is hysterical.
And see...dressing up for Halloween ups the silliness ante...
See ya'll there! I'm hoping they have my favorite ROA shooters on hand...Redheaded Sluts (hey, ya are what ya drink, baby!)

ZiggyCringe, you said you didn't get the finances and asked how the SHOW was financing itself (not how the actors are financing themselves) and referenced that the cast was HUGE and that the reviews were not raves. You misunderstood my response as you were saying that they couldn't possibly break even and I was telling you how they can and are.
I'm an actor in our fair city so I know how we get paid. My reference to "they" was to the producers of the show (e.g. those who are financing it). What I meant by saying reviews don't matter is that reviews are independent of ticket sales and ticket sales are what matter. And the gross of the show is indeed # of tickets x $ of each ticket.
My point is that right now (the 2nd slowest time period for NYC theater) the show is selling very well. So they can easily meet their operating costs and turn a profit if it continues to sell that well. The cast may be HUGE compared to Altar Boyz, but it's actually not that big.
Now do you see how it's possible to break even on a week-to-week basis? No producer would touch a property that couldn't... except Dreamworks.
Kidding.
