Something Just Broke is in the vocal selections book of Assassins so you can always find the lyrics right there.

God forbid a theater lover is able to read lyrics to a song they like. I mean, it's not like you can do a google search for "Something Just Broke Lyrics" and come up with it.

This doesn't really have much to do with what this thread was previously about re: Something Just Broke, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread.

So I saw Assassins twice, and now I'm listening to the new recording (for the 10th or so time today), and I noticed something I find interesting. Has anybody else noticed how much "Something Just Broke" sounds EXACTLY like much of the music from "Passion". I love the song, it just struck me as interesting. I'm pretty sure this song was added to the London production of "Assassins" around the same time that Sondheim was writing "Passion". I'm sure others have noticed, I'm just curious if there is an actual connection between Sondheim's writing of "Passion" and of "Something Just Broke".

Hmm...I didn't notice until the 2nd time I saw the show, but I knew something sounded familiar about it the first time (aside from the fact that it is a Sondheim song). I can't think of a specific line it reminds me of off-hand, but I will try and compare them later.
