WithoutATrace, not really the news I was hoping for. Still, thank you for the quick reply. Have fun at the signing!

In the email "A Little Night Music" sent out regarding the signing it said, "You may purchase multiple CD's, but only one (1) CD per person will be signed and the signatures will be limited to a previously designated location on the CD leaflet. Company members will be instructed on where to sign."
Does anyone have any idea as to whether we will actually be able to meet the actors at that time or if the CD will simply be passed down a line in the theater for the entire cast to sign? Do these normally work where you approach whichever actors you want to sign your CD or where everyone just signs it? Thanks!

Usually they're seated at a table and your CD booklet gets passed down from one actor to another. You might have the chance to briefly talk to the actors, but not more than 30 seconds.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Do you walk down the table 'following' your booklet being passed on?

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

For SWEENEY TODD, which included many of the same producers, you followed your booklet down the table.

Also at the Sweeney signing you did get the chance to talk to people, not for long though. There was some sort of pause while I was in front of Sondheim, and I took the opportunity to mention how much I had loved the show, and he told me that he was fascinated by Doyle's concept and when he first saw it in London he saw the show in a completely new way. The way he spoke about Doyle was awesome, just so much respect.

So what time are we thinking people will start lining up? Are we thinking like noon? Or 9am? Earlier?

I assume the line may very well start before 9, but if you got there at 12 , or even at 2 I have no doubt that by 3:30 you wouldn't have it signed.

So you are saying that 12pm is too late? (It's just a little confusing because you've used 'but' as if the direction of the conversation was about to change)

No i said that if you got there anytime before 2 you would most likely have your cd signed by 3:30. But get there as early as you can if you have nothing better to do. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
