I went to the concert on Saturday and returned today to catch some of the performances around the park. It was a very enjoyable experience even though Sondheim didn't appear. We were in the seventh or so row of the free seats in the pavilion, so we could see pretty decently. I got to chat with Mary, Brian, and Danny at the stagedoor. They were very gracious and kind.

I thought that all the performances in the concert were amazing, (despite, as Baritone said, Mary coming in in the wrong key). The overture was one of the highlights for me, as was A Little Priest. I'm surprised Judy didn't come onstage toting a tuba just for kicks.

The Gay Men's Chorus wrapped up the weekend's performances today, and they were marvelous. They joined the Chicago Children's Choir in singing 'Sunday' and it gave me chills.

They ought to do this more often. It was a very fun weekend.

-Was that a fart?
-My fault, I fear.

I have heard from friends that "Sunday" was absolutely phenomenal.

Oh, see, on Friday, Mary kicked butt... I fell in love with her from the moment she began "A Weekend in the Country." I love her faces... maybe it's just me... but... whatever... lol
And I'm now extremely mad that my cousin made himself sick because I really could have talked to the performers! I thought I was just kind of making that up... darnit! lol
