Just to let everyone know,

Deep Discount DVD (where I buy most of my DVDs as they have amazing prices and don't charge for shipping) just popped up with a great deal. I ordered Li'l Abner on DVD and then it offered me the Sondheim concert at Carnegie Hall DVD for only $2.99.

Just ordered my copy, along with BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE. I guess these luring deals really do work.

I've found some great theater books at ridiculous prices (like the recent Channing autobiography for one dollar, the recent Arthur Miller memoir for three dollars, etc. ) at places like Alibris.com and overstock.com I recently got the DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT cd at a great price from overstock.com too. :))))))

I ordered it too, with no additional purchase necessary (unless maybe their system counted a DVD I have preordered.)

It's listed twice... once for $2.99 and right below it for $9.99, but I can't tell the difference between them. Are these new dvds?

I don't think there's any difference, except for the price of course. The cheaper one is probably a time-limited offer, and therefore has a different item number.

I ordered one as well, and yes they do ship to Canada and International (but not for free: costs an extra $4.95.)

So thank you for the heads up on that!

LOL - I do wonder what their reaction will be when this DVD suddenly sells several dozen copies in the span of 24 hours!!

A few years ago copies of the London cast Cd of ALNM with Judi Dench surfaced at Berkshire Record Outlet for $3.99 each. Someone posted this to the CASTREC group and within hours all the available copies were gone! (I was one of the people who got there too late, so if anyone out there has a copy they could copy for Front Row Centre - to be used as a reference copy only for on air and review purposes - please contact me!)

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
