Sondheim's Groundhog Day

Anyone know how this is progressing? Time to move on and bounce back...

re: Sondheim's Groundhog Day

I wasn't aware Sondheim was working on this. Is this his new project that was rumoured to be 'something major and interesting'?

re: Sondheim's Groundhog Day

From what I understand, he pretty much said that this would interest him. It doesn't seem like he's worked on it that much... he might try going back to Bounce before getting to this one.

re: Sondheim's Groundhog Day

Great movie...but what would be the point of adding songs to it? Some movies just don't need to be musicalized (cough cough) Spamalot (cough cough)

re: Sondheim's Groundhog Day

I believe this is just something Sondheim said he'd be interested in doing, and it sort of got perpetuated into the idea that he was actually working on it, or that it was more than an idea. If he is working on it, I think it's just merely his own motivation, and that a future for this musical isn't even more than an idea at this time.

re: Sondheim's Groundhog Day

I agree with BobbyBubby, it seemed to be something that was just mentioned in passing and I would love to see Sondheim come out with something totally new. But then again, a comercial success for Sondheim off of a really funny and dark movie, where he takes this movie to musical phenomena and makes into true art, I can get behind that.
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Sondheim isn't actively pursuing this. It was merely a theoretical.
