I read in Entertainment Weekly today that Stephen Sondheim will be lending his voice to an animated version of himself for an episode of The Simpsons. Cletus the Slackjawed Yokel's children will become a singing group (accoridng to the magazines's Fall TV preview) and Sondheim will write material for them.
Sounds good! I don't know when the episode airs though.

Kartman (singing to the tune of "Comedy Tonight")
No no no no no! No no no no no!
Even more: I saw an episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse where a little girl sang "Broadway Baby". It was kind of creepy since she was only like 7, but interesting that they'd have somehthing like that in a show like that. *trying not to be confusing*
Sunday in South Park with George...

Ironically, Sondheim actually told the creators of South Park that the movie was the best musical he'd seen in 15 years. One of them replied, "You've done some good stuff too."
This will be my one and only time watching The Simpsons.
