Hey guys!
My voice teacher assigned me "Unexpected Song" and wants me to bring her a summary of the show it's from, "Song and Dance." I googled and got a one-sentence synopsis that doesn't really make sense. Does anyone know where I could get one or can give me one?
Thanks!

I saw Song and Dance and really enjoyed Ms Peters in the role of Emma.
The one sentence synopsis probably takes care of it as far as story goes. It is about an "English Girl" who comes to the states for love. She continues to sing about her love adventures. Act II is totally danced. Hopefully someone will remember more than I do, but I don't think there is much more.

Emma is a hat maker who comes to America to both start a career and be with her drummer boyfriend. On her firt night she discovers her boyfriend is cheating dick and moves in with her friend Vivian. She then gets involved with Sheldon Bloom, a "strangley handsome" Hollyood exec and he whisks her away to California. its trendy to be English in CA but she is tired of being a "soggy crumpet floating around the pool all day long." She goes back to NYC. She then falls in love with a blue-jean wearing American, Joe, ("Unexpected Song") but he fears committment and leaves her (he is the lead of the Dance half of S&D). On the rebound, Emma becomes involved with a married man and has launched a successful brand of hats. He leaves his wife and she throws him out. she has a big breakdown on how she's changed in NYC and vows to get back to her original Emma (end Act One). Act 2 all danced and its the adventures of Joe in NYC. In the final scene he comes across Emma and they reunite. The entire cast sings "Unexpected Song."
Its a terrific little tour-de-force for the woman. have fun.
