Raúl Esparza interview in the Sunday Times

Jan 11, 2007 — 9:04:12 PM

Just my two cents: I am so glad that Raul felt comfortable enough to give this interview. That takes a lot of guts and strength. If he feels like this was the right thing for him to do, then I completely respect his decision, and I think that we all should. His honesty is so incredible in this article. Seriously amazing...

Right now it's Once Upon A Time from BARE... "Once upon a time, When I first held your hand and love was not a crime... In a private world where you said don't look down, But then I did and now you're lost... Above me." It's beautiful... but it always gets stuck in my head!

The part in "We Do Not Belong Together" in Sunday in the Park With George when Dot sings: "No, you are complete George you are your own, We do not belong together. You are complete George you all alone, I am unfinished- I am diminished With or without you..." And then... "We do not belong together- And we should have belonged together. What made it so right together? What made it so wrong?" So poignant and beautiful. Actually that whole song really gets to me.

Rainy Days

Aug 21, 2006 — 11:10:01 AM

In the spur of the moment I saw "The Penguin Tango" at the Actor's Playhouse with a few friends. It was a sweet show; a comedy with some deeper moments. It's an interesting story (based on true events), and I would recommend it. It was a little over the top at times, but nevertheless very thought provoking.

re: Tick, tick..BOOM to go to Broadway?

Very small... The show demands a certain level of intimacy between the actors onstage and the audience members. In a large theater, the show would not have the impact that it deserves I think. There would be too much of a disconnect.

I'm gonna have to agree with bjivie2. I just can't see Tick, Tick... BOOM! in the mainstream right now. Of course, I wouldn't complain if it did come to New York... heck I'd be in line the day sales started!
