So next year, my school's drama club might shut down so my best friend and I decided to write a play that we could put on that wouldn't require too much funding so drama club won't be shut down. Anyways, it's a modernized version of Cinderella, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast combined- all put into a high school scenario. We're writing the actual plays, but borrowing songs from different musicals that fit different scenes. No songs from the actual Cinderella, Aladdin, or Beauty and the Beast. The play is mainly comedy and somewhat drama. I've already figured out a lot of songs for the Cinderella parts, but we still need some good ones to fit Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin parts so if you've got any good songs- that would be great!

Could you give us specific scenes or situations when the characters burst into song?

Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Use Lauper version for Stepsisters, then reprise with Cinderella using the Greg Laswell version)
It's Raining Men (theme song for the Ball)

It Should Have Been Me - Yvonne Fair (Stepsisters)
Just the Way You Are - Bruno Mars

Aladdin
I Believe I Can Fly - R. Kelly

Many Rivers to Cross - use Joe Cocker version for the Beast's theme music
