Ok...I get that it's technically not from a musical, but Baby Mine from Dumbo is one of my favorites and I put it on a CD for my niece when she was born.

There is, in my book, only one song about protecting someone. Anytime (I am There) from William Finn's Elegies. It is just so perfect.
