Songs by Broadway Artists You’re Listening to This NYE

Not for the new year specifically, but I discovered Steven Universe last month and I consider it now one of the most low-key brilliant and original musicals of the last decade. The first season was a little juvenile and twee, but after that (when the series also committed to being a musical and not just having songs once in a while) it’s great. And as far as I know, it’s the only existing musical where chiptune and lofi are the primary musical genres represented.

So yes, this new year I am listening to Susan Egan, Deedee Magno Hall and Patti LuPone on the seven disc SU expanded soundtrack.
