How is the view from the second row at the Majestic? Is the stage too high? I have a row BB ticket and I want to know if I will be able to see everything. Thank you!
Amazing view!
The stage is not high at all so you don't miss anything that happens onstage. You'll have to crane your neck upwards to see when the action that takes place above the stage, but you won't miss anything and the actors will be mere feet from you during most of the show. If you are in the center section, row BB is actually the front row since there is no center row AA.
Thank you! I'm way too excited now. Though the seating chart says there is a center Row AA... I'm still content. Thanks again!
Yeah, the chart has always shown a center row AA, but it doesn't actually exist. If you look on Telecharge.com you'll see that they list row BB as the first available row. I've sat in the center of row BB and there's nothing in front of you except the orchestra pit.
You'll love it! Have fun!

Yeah I am considering seeing Phantom (for the 26th time) tomorrow afternoon and schooltix.com offered me Row BB center as well. I dont like sitting that close for Phantom....its like sitting in the front row of a movie theater....
See I love those seats! You really feel like part of the action and can practically count the beads on the costumes!

That's true, but I'm all about seeing the "picture" of the show. Sitting that close, you can really only look at one part of the stage at a time. You miss a lot.
We sat in the front row for WICKED and loved it....
Wow!!! Enjoy and have fun
I want a full, very detailed review

Who wants to see Phantom tomorrow at 2 with me??????? yayyyy!
If I didn't work during the day I totally would! It's been a while since I've seen the show. I'll probably go again once John Cudia steps in, since I've never seen him as the Phantom. Enjoy & I hope you post a review!

yeah he'll only be there for a couple months right?
I saw John Cudia on tour. He's fantastic. You'll love him.

Sitting that close, you will really miss all that happens with the transformation of the procenium at the start of the show, the effect of the falling chandelier will be lost as you will almost have to turn around in you seat to catch it, you will not really see the Phantom at the top of the procenium. Yes, you can count the beads on the costumes, but miss other major things.

exactly puppetman. That's why I prefer the mezz, or the orch in rows G to L.

There are good and bad things about those seats. I enjoy sitting close, but I also know the show really well and don't necessarily need the big picture every time. I think the chandelier looks great from there because only when you're under it does it look scary when it falls -- it's easier to tell how slowly it's moving when you're seeing it from the side, from under it the perspective is a little deceiving, and IMO it looks better. Being two rows back would mean you don't have to lean back to see it, but it's not so bad.
I'm pretty sure I'll be calling this afternoon's performance. Enjoy the show.
I've sat pretty much everywhere except the extreme rear orchestra and the boxes at the Majestic.
I love the front row, but it's not a great angle for seeing the chandelier (though that's not a big deal for me) fall or watching the Phantom on the catwalks in some scenes...and you might get a crick in your neck when he's above the stage after "All I Ask of You."
I wouldn't recommend it for a first time or for someone who really wants to see the whole stage at once...or if you hate being spit on by actors.
And be warned...the flash of the chandelier at the end of the auction and the fire jets at the end of the graveyard scene can be pretty intense if you're not prepared for them.

The pyro had to be toned down a year ago because of new fire laws, so it's not quite so overpowering as it used to be.

I don't know, I think the fire is still pretty hot and shocking, even from the mezz.

Well good. It's not as hot and big as it used to be (most of all I miss the heat), but it's good to know it still has most of the same effect. Those of you who wound up going this afternoon will know that the school groups were SCREAMING when the pyro went off, which is something I haven't noticed in a while. Also for the gunshots. But then again they were just an especially rowdy group. So who went? Reviews?
