I wont write too much seeing as i have to work in the morning. i first want to say that i understand this is a message board, but i would appreciate any kind of negative comments left off this Post! thank you in advance...
I sat front row tonight at lennon. this is the second night of previews and i wasnt quite sure what to expect. well...I THINK I TRULY ENJOYED MYSELF!!! you simply cant lose with a cast like this and i guarantee that it will run long enough to touch the people that it needs to touch! i was the black guy in the front row with the dreds and it was wondeful. i was completely pulled in by the music(most of which i had never heard before) and the cast. those voices just dont stop delivering and i hope they capture this work in a live version form. Thats the only way to capture all the magic this piece holds. THANK GOD FOR THE ENTIRE CAST INCLUDING THE AMAZING JULIA MURNEY who was sooooooo sweet to me at the stagedoor. i would like to expand on this but i am tired, so i will share some highlight FOR ME.
1. MArcy coming downstage while singing "Woman is the n* of The World" and reaching out and grabbing my hand and then singing to me for what seemed to be an eternity!!!! it was pure heaven. the entire cast saw how thrilled i was to be there and they kept bringing me in closer and closer.
2. the cast sung to me numerous times! Lots of Eye Contact with me!!! and lots of me going nuts like some teenage girl who just woke up by a hotel swimming pool to fine justin timberlake skinny dipping in honey! hmmm...
3>Chuck Cooper changed my life in caroline or change, and mmade my life tonight in lennon. he breaks your heart.
P.S. I LOVE THIS CAST!!! LOTS OF LOVE! you ALL blew me away!!!
-Allen
4.OMG!!!! Is that Chad Kimball singing that high or IS IT JUST ME?!?! i honestly thought it was a girl singing sometimes. this is a good thing. ungodly range! ah!
5. Julia Murney = Life! period.
6.DID I MENTION MARCY?!?!?!?!
7. Marcy came running out to me when she walked out the stage door. they all recognized me! this made my night. yes you guys (if the cast is reading) you'll find me front row soon!
This show is incredible if you go in embracing whatever you can take out of it! Truly beautiful show. I am officially a John Lennon fan now!!! I am officially a fan of this show!!!
Go Enjoy...Please!
